We understand that enrolling your child in kindergarten can be exciting for children and an important decision for parents knowing if their child will be happy.
At Beachcomber, every effort is made to smooth the settling-in process and ensure that our parents are comfortable in entrusting their child to our care. We understand that for many parents this may be the first time they are leaving their child in the care of others.
We welcome parents and their child to visit as many times as they like and we are happy to answer any questions and concerns that arise throughout these visits.
Schedule
Our simple enrolment process begins with a visit to the centre where you and your child can meet with our teachers and familiarise yourselves with us and our kindergarten.
We offer flexibility of enrolled hours, with parents choosing between morning sessions, afternoon sessions or full days to work around your needs and those of your child. When needed, changes can be made to your child’s enrolment.
The centre is open between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm every day during school terms and our minimum enrolment is 3 hours per day, two days per week.
Please feel free to book a visit to see our home-like kindergarten and speak with our educators about your schedule and the unique requirements of your child’s learning.
20 Hours ECE
Talk to our administrator who is more than happy to discuss your requirements and help you develop the best schedule under the 20 hours ECE scheme, so please get in touch with us.
Signing In & Out
The safety and security of your children is a crucial part of Beachcomber Kindergarten. Parents and caregivers must sign their children in and out each time they come to the centre.
If any person other than those names on the enrolment form is collecting your child from the centre, our staff must be notified and, though it’s not always easily practical, our preference is to meet these people prior to the first pickup.
Not only does this provide us with recognition of the people responsible for your child when they leave our care, it strengthens our relationship with everyone involved in the early development of your child.
Once you have decided to join our Beachcomber Kindergarten family, it will help to go through our Enrolment Checklist and make sure you have everything ready for a successful first day for you and your child – we can’t wait to meet you!
- Have you shown us a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport?
- Have you paid the non-refundable $40 enrolment administration fee and received your free wet bag?
- Have you been shown the centre policies on sun safety, children’s health, behaviour management, complaints etc?
- Have you seen our sign in process and noted that you must sign in and sign out your child each day?
- Have you named your child’s bag, shoes, lunchbox, drink bottle, wet bag and clothing?
- Have you completed the attestation form to claim up to 20 hours early childhood education per week (3 and 4 year old children only)?
Please talk to us if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s care and education. We thank you for entrusting your child to us and hope that you and your family enjoy your time at Beachcomber Kindergarten.
